A key part of the role is translating the business vision into practical, scalable operating models, identifying operational risks and coordinating delivery across development, marketing, legal, finance and the wider leadership team.

GB Salads
General Manager | Greenfield Factory Design & Delivery

Designed, developed and brought into operation an approximately £800k high-care ready-to-eat salad manufacturing facility from an empty industrial unit through to commercial production. Responsibility covered factory layout, process flow, equipment specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, recruitment, operational systems, QMS, technical compliance and production readiness.

The facility achieved BRCGS Grade A at its first audit and was approved for Kedassia Kosher production, including successful Passover production. Finished certified salad products achieved zero insect findings. The operation was designed around semi automated production with capability of up to 20 × 500g bags per minute.

Percy’s Bakery
General Manager | Operational Leadership & NPD Delivery

Led day to day manufacturing operations across a workforce of more than 70 people, with responsibility spanning production, technical, people, performance, customer delivery and continuous improvement. Supported multiple product launches across major retail and foodservice customers including M&S, Morrisons and Starbucks, while maintaining operational stability and achieving BRCGS AA renewal.

Drove practical process improvement across the site, including redesigning chocolate moulds to reduce production waste from approximately 40% to 5%. The role combined hands on operational leadership with NPD delivery, technical compliance, team development and continuous improvement across a live food manufacturing environment.

Houghton’s Holdings Limited
Senior Manager | Group Operations & Technical Leadership

Held broad senior responsibility across the Houghton’s Holdings group, including Houghton’s of London, The London Herb Company, London Prepared Produce and DDP Limited. The role covered operational leadership, technical management, food safety, compliance, HR, people management, business systems, projects, customer requirements and continuous improvement across multiple businesses.

Supported commercial growth and onboarding of new customers including The Real Greek, Taiko, YO! Sushi and Whole Foods Market, while maintaining and developing the systems required to meet BRCGS and SALSA standards. Worked directly across production, technical, operational and people functions, resolving day to day challenges while also supporting longer term business improvement, customer development and group wide compliance.

Growing Underground | Zero Carbon Farms
Operations & Project Leadership

Supported the operational development and expansion of one of the UK’s most distinctive commercial vertical farming environments, helping scale the subterranean growing operation from approximately 520m² to 1,120m² while maintaining live production and technical standards.

Worked across operations, production flow, process improvement, food safety, compliance, people and site development, supporting the business through a significant period of growth while maintaining BRCGS AA accreditation.

The operation supplied major retail and foodservice customers including M&S, Tesco and Whole Foods Market, requiring consistent delivery against demanding technical, quality and customer standards.

The role required close coordination across growing, production, technical and operational teams within a highly unusual controlled environment agriculture setting.

Built an extensive technical career supporting complex, security conscious and highly regulated environments across BNFL, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, BAE Systems and THALES. Experience spanned nuclear infrastructure, defence programmes, enterprise technology and transport systems, working in environments where reliability, controlled change, governance and technical accuracy were critical.

Responsibilities covered senior infrastructure support, complex fault diagnosis, systems deployment, resilience, technical change, stakeholder coordination and the resolution of business critical technology issues across large operational environments.
